our story

Suzy

It started with a spark. The first invitation of many. An invitation to life.

I remember being an infant. The first moment of awareness that I existed in this world. It felt like more than consciousness. It was like my mind stepped fully online for the first time, in that brief moment, as if I crossed some invisible threshold. I was no longer simply existing inside my body. I was witnessing life. I was observing the world and understanding my place inside it.

I was here. I existed. I mattered.

That first spark became a quiet foundation. An invitation. An invitation to life.

To remember that I mattered before I performed for it, before I earned it, and before I shaped myself into what others needed.

I mattered simply because I was here.

That spark became the beginning of a lifelong journey.

A journey of paying attention, of asking questions, and of wondering why people experience life so differently.

As I grew, those questions grew with me. They eventually led me to spend more than twenty years sitting with people, listening to their stories, and trying to understand what shapes the way we participate in life.

Again and again, I noticed the same thing.

I didn't see broken people.

I saw people adapting to the lives they had experienced.

The more I listened, the more I realized I wasn't searching for answers about myself alone. I was searching for what it means to be human.

Every conversation became another invitation to pay attention.

Over time, patterns began to emerge.

Those patterns didn't just shape my understanding of others.

They reshaped the way I understood life itself.

The Deep Current Collective has grown from this lifelong pursuit.

It is an invitation to follow sparks.

An invitation to participate in life.

The DCC

The Deep Current Collective is a community built around a simple belief:

People are not broken.

We believe life is something we participating in all the time to varying degrees.

Through conversation, creativity, curiosity, and community, we create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and one another, and experience life more fully.

The Deep Current Collective isn't about becoming someone different, or becoming “fixed.”

It's about discovering the capacity to participate more fully in the life you're already living.

Whether through shared stories, art, meaningful conversations, or simply noticing the sparks around us, every invitation is an opportunity to participate.

Come follow the sparks.

Come participate in life.
